Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania and is now a Romanian/German actress. Her most well-known movies include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole child of Romanian actors Valentin Platareu. Alexandra started her showbiz career at an early age. When she turned 16years old, Alexandra was able to land leading roles in several television dramas. Her critically acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated films featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is known for her work in numerous noteworthy projects both domestically and internationally. These include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historical mini-series Napoleon among others. Additionally, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
